The YPP targets motivated and talented young professionals under thirty-two (32) years of age, who are committed to making
a difference on the African continent and who will spend between two (2) and three (3) years of their professional career
in a multicultural, and professionally stimulating environment at the African Development Bank.

The Bank seeks individuals skilled in the areas relevant to its operations, such as infrastructure, regional integration,
health, education, agriculture, climate change and environment, gender, finance and risk management, governance and private
sector development.

The Bank hires approximately twenty (20) young professionals each year. These YPs complete yearly rotational assignments in
different organizational units and sectors in the Bank, during a minimum of two and maximum of three rotational
assignments.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Features of the Program

The program mandates completion of two (2) out of three (3) yearly rotations with a possibility of securing a regular staff
position during the third term of the program. Additionally, the program affords coaching and mentoring opportunities for
each Young Professional.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
The 1st rotational assignment will be a ‘stretch’ or ‘learning’ rotation, responsive to the Bank’s needs and priorities. It
is intended to provide exposure to the Bank’s various departmental and developmental programs and processes. Individual
work programs should reflect on-the-job learning that is central to the YPP.
Where possible, the second rotational assignment should take place in the area of expertise or organizational unit in which
the YP hopes to remain for the mid to long term if selected on a competitive basis. The work program should provide a
suitable bridge between the development focus of the 1st rotation and the specialist nature of the 2nd rotation and the
level of responsibility required in a higher level position.
As required by their work programs, and at the request of the organizational unit hosting the rotation, YPs are expected to

Ensure there are business continuity and crisis management plans in place to minimize losses in the event of severe business disruptions. Ensure periodic assessment of contingency plans.
•Facilitate the periodic Group Risk Management and Control Committee meetings chaired by the Group CFO.

• Prognosis of well potentials using the well model Prosper from well tests interpreted results provided by the Reservoir.

• Follow up on actual wells production or injection, identifying well production shortfalls, analysing their origins.
• Co-ordination of Reservoir, Drilling/completion and production multi-disciplinary expertises to propose curative actions for under performing wells. Quantify expected benefits.
• Scheduling light well interventions taking into account Production, Drilling/completion and Reservoir requirements.
• Post mortem analysis after corrective actions.
• Artificial lift management : choice and sizing of the solutions, establishment of optimum working parameters including gas allocation to comply with the overall production/injection strategy defined by Reservoir.
• Keep a close contact with Production operations to follow up on the day to day wells behaviour, and the implementation of necessary adjustments.
• Establish a scope of requirements prior to any well completion or re-completion.
• Regular communications with the Well performance engineering department (FP) in head office for technical support and feed back.
• Implementation of Procedures for well start-up and clean-up.
• Implementation and Updating of the Well Performance indicators.
• Well metering frequency determination and final test data validation.
• Production allocation per well determination.
• Well modelling and well potential updating using Prosper, MPG or equivalent models.
• Statement of requirements for Well Performance monitoring, mechanical survey and scale removal. Validation and interpretation of Well Performance and well integrity datas.

REQUIRED SKILLS
EDUCATION
Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent

EXPERIENCE
Minimum of eight years experience in Oil & Gas Production: Reservoir, Completion, and well performance.
Previous operational experience in Reservoir, completion and stimulation or production or has been specifically trained within the Well performance Engineering department in head office.
Good overview of the different parameters affecting the performance of a well, from the reservoir to the surface utilities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSILITIES
The driver/ clerk position in the office fall under direct supervision of the administrative officer/ assistant. 4. Ensure that all UNHCR vehicles are road worthy and are maintained up to be established security standards; in case a vehicle(s) is not up to standard, he/she should bring it to the immediate attention of the Office administration;
5. Be responsible for the vehicle log book: it requires that the incumbent record/ register all travel and during assignments as per established record (log) book. Failure to have an up to date and accurate log book is considered as violation of driving code of the office;

QUALIFICATIONS
• Education and Skills: Completion of the Secondary Education With fluency in the reading, writing and comprehension of the local language(s).
• Valid national driving license with a minimum of four years accident free experience in motor car and 4 wheels drive vehicles for an International organisation or a reputed government/ private establishment
• Sound knowledge in motor car maintenance and routine mechanical repairs.

POTENTIAL CANDIDATES MUST HAVE:

• Excellent teaching/communication skills

Familiarity with the British National Curriculum would be desirable. Candidates must be practicing Christians. i. Trainee Wireline Field Engineers (Ref: WTS/GA/001)
The successful candidates will be members of basic survey operations. Specifically, the candidate will:
Maintain wireline units from pre to post job
Learn how to operate Wireline units and steering tools including hanging sheaves and familiarization with subs and crossovers used in job applications

Understand the theory of magnetic and magnetic surveying
Responsible for pre-job preparation of surveying equipment and wireline until high quality standards and to ensure pre-job logistics are completed

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
Ability to communicate effectively in English
Some Microsoft Windows experience (general computer awareness/experience)
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division
